How to fix the HP printer offline issue?

Step1- Make sure the HP Printer is connected to the computer with USB or Wi-Fi.

  • If you are using a USB cable mode, look at whether the chosen cables are connected properly to both the ends (printer to computer interface).
  • Try to ensure the HP printer connects directly to the computer USB port and not under the USB port connector.
  • Or else, you are using an Ethernet cable to connect, confirm whether the cable is connected intact to both the ends of your desired printer & router.
  • Then, you have to ensure the network reference by getting the Network configuration page using the printer to verify the correct IP address of the printer.
  • If at all you are under wireless or Wi-Fi connection, check for an active connection between the printer and a wireless router.
  • Finally, wait for the print network configuration page report and find the IP address of the HP printer.

Step2– Set HP printer as a default printer (Windows 10).

  1. To begin with, use the Settings or Control Panel.
  2. Then, access using the desired options like Devices and Printers.
  3. Further, you need to right-click on your desired printer icon to choose Set as the default printer.

Step3- Delete all the pending documents from the print queue.

  1. To begin with, use the relevant settings and then right-click on your printer name.
  2. Further, connect through the drop-down to pick the option- See what’s printing.
  3. Access using the option Printer option from the window
  4. Finally, try to check for the required option- Cancel All Documents.

Step4- Check HP Printer status in Devices and Printers windows.

  1. After finding your HP printer under Offline status. Right-click on the icon of your printer > See what’s printing > Printer > Use Printer Offline (uncheck the checkbox).
  2. If at all your desired printer is in Paused state. Right-click the icon for your printer > See what’s printing > Printer > Pause Printing (removes the checkmark).

Step5- Make sure there is no copy of the HP Printer icon.

  1. If you have used multiple HP printers, try to delete the unwanted printer from the list.
  2. Use the uninstall the installed printer from the control panel settings.
  3. Then, you have to download the latest HP printer driver software.
  4. Finally, reinstall the printer freshly.
