HP Printer Troubleshooting Guide with Solutions for Major Issues

1. HP Printer Driver Installation

Whenever you come across any problem with the HP printers, consider reinstalling the printer driver. For this, move on to your computer and go to the control panel. Then, remove the printer driver installed on the device. Check the exact OS version of the computer and search for the compatible HP printer driver. If the HP Printer Driver is Unavailable, then download the printer driver on the device and extract it. After that, continue with the wizard instructions given on the screen and install the driver.

2. Check HP Printer Spooler Error and Troubleshoot

With the print spooler, the computer communicated with the HP printer without any hassle. When the printer fails to take the print commands due to a job stuck in the queue, it will show Printer Spooler Error. To fix this problem, follow the procedure given below:

Firstly, close all the running print jobs and click the Start button on the device. Go to the Administrative Tools and choose the Services option. Then, scroll down to the “Print Spooler” list and stop it. Now, access the Local Disk C on your computer and choose the Windows folder. Go to System32 and choose the spool option and then click the Printers option. Cancel all the print jobs given in the device folder and go to the Services section. Right-click on the Print Spooler and choose the Start menu. Finally, print a sample file.

3. Check the USB Connection

Move on to the printer and check whether the USB connections are perfect. Then, check the USB connections in the computer and ensure to have no problem. Also, ensure that the USB cable does not have any damage.

4. Ensure that your HP printer is the Default Printer

Go to your preferred operating system and click on the button- Start. After that, click the control panel and go to the Devices and Printers. Right-click on your HP printer name and a list of options will appear. Now, click- Choose Set As Default Printer.

5. Clear the Preceding Print Command Traffic

Sometimes the HP printer fails to take the printing commands. It’s because of the preceding print commands queue. Thus, when the printer is not taking the print commands, clear the previous tasks. For this, first, you have to access the computer. Then, choose the Start button and access the control panel. Now, choose the Devices and Printers option and right-click on the printer symbol. Choose the option- What’s printing and cancel the preceding print commands. After that, open the HP printer menu and choose- cancel all the documents. Continue and print the new file.
