Below are the six proven steps to fix scanning and repairing driver stuck issues.

Step 1: Check the disc connection:

  • Check if you have not displaced your computer in recent times.
  • Cable connections between the systems can also cause scanning and repairing driver issues.
  • Recheck the ports and cables connected to your PC.

Step 2: Wait for the scanning and repairing process to finish:

  • The time for scanning and solving the drive depends on the PC.
  • If the issue is minor, the process will not take too long.
  • The process might take a long time if the problem is deep.
  • Wait until the process is complete to continue with the further steps.

Step 3: Stop Windows from scanning and repairing the drive:

  • First, press the power button to shut down your computer.
  • You will see the “repairing automatic screen” window on powering up your device.
  • Next, diagnosing your PC window will open. Press any button continuously before the disk-checking window opens.

Step 4: Disable automatic repair:

  • Shut down your computer by tapping the power button on your PC.
  • Switch on your device and wait for the PC logo.
  • Switch on and turn off the computer.
  • Now, power it on and wait for the PC to start without interruptions.
  • Go to the options menu, choose the HP Officejet pro 8720 troubleshooting menu, click on advanced options, and click the command prompt.

Step 5: Enter safe mode and run CHKDSK:

  • Restart the computer, and enable the safe mode with networking.

  • Now, go to the tools menu and tap on the check option.

Step 6: Recover data:

  • Open the data recovery wizard.
  • Go to the data storage location and tap on the scan menu.
  • The recovery software will now run and find the lost data.
  • Choose all the lost documents you need, and tap on the restore button.
